Later #34: a movie: 'The Tourist'

Saw the movie, ‘The Tourist,’ starring top billing eye candy Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp set in the equally captivating cities of Paris and Venice.

The movie is a weak story about bungling Scotland Yard police officers trying to capture the guy who defrauded the UK tax authorities of 710 million after stealing money from a gangster, and the gangster trying to get his money back. Depp is the tourist in the middle. The main camera work captures the swaying butt of Jolie, catwalk model-like, in beautiful gowns and dresses, with gob smacked men in background soft focus. Jolie looks more like the animated version of Lara Croft rather than the solid actress we see in many of her best performances. The movie doesn’t take itself too seriously and neither should you. 5/10.
