Saw ‘Eat Pray Love,’ with Julia Roberts (Liz) looking stunning as a middle-aged lost soul searching the world for her centre.
Liz is probably typical in the western urban world and easy for us to identify with. She is brave to take a journey that we only imagine taking ourselves, but don’t have the courage or inclination to ever do so. That makes Liz rare. Unfortunately the journey is filled with acknowledged cliché (as recognised by Richard Jenkins as the 'mother-f__ker' Texan in India). The movie does well to capture aspects of life in each of the 3 places of Liz’s journey:Roma , India , Bali . However not much is new. 5/10.
